Tamarind has been claimed to have a lot of medicinal qualities. In 2018, videos and posts went viral in social media requesting people to drink Tamarind juice claiming it will help live 20 years longer. Consuming Tamarind above regular food levels can cause drug interactions especially with Aspirin and Ibuprofen (e.g: Advil). Patients should take extra care if they are on any of the pain or fever reducing medications when consuming large amounts of Tamarind. [1] [2]
